JOB DESCRIPTION

The Program Associate will assist in select projects in programming, programming administration and event production for the 33rd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, April 27 through May 4, 2017. Playing a key role in facilitating programming workflow, the Program Associate may assist in tasks such as data/material acquisition, marketing/outreach, workflow implementation, copyediting, scheduling and venue coordination. This is a great opportunity to learn about the processes behind executing a film festival. The successful candidate must be an eager and quick learner, and have experience, interest and/or knowledge in programming, marketing/outreach, event coordination and publications (print and web). 

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE

  • Tracking, organizing and verifying film-related data and press/promotional materials
  • Assist in writing/copyediting text for for online and print publications
  • Assist in troubleshooting, rectifying and reporting data import/export/publishing issues
  • Assist in marketing, audience outreach, community partnerships and guest services

The Social Media Coordinator will plan and execute social media strategies for the 33rd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, April 27 through May 4, 2017. Essential to Festival programming, marketing and audience development objectives, the Social Media Coordinator creates and enforces consistent (as well as customized) messaging to diverse online publics. The successful candidate must be adept in creating exciting, professional, succinct social media campaigns, and have experience and/or knowledge in branding, marketing, audience development, and programming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and become familiar with all aspects of Festival programming, including screenings, talks, panels, receptions and other events
  • Explore and strategize key social media contacts and partners, in consultation with Marketing, Community Partnerships and Programming teams
  • Organize and compile information and visual materials for social media posting use
  • Create social media campaigns for select programming focuses and events 
  • Work with VC’s organizational Communications/Memberships team to ensure consistent and effective campaigns

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit and manage all volunteers for the 33rd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, April 27 through May 4, 2017. Playing a key role in facilitating Festival operations and events production, the Volunteer Coordinator will recruit 150-200 volunteers and strategize volunteer deployment, training and relationship management; they will also be working crucially with other Festival staff to ensure successful execution of all Festival Operations and Events. The successful candidate will be confident and adept in personnel/volunteer management and have experience and/or knowledge in event production, logistics and volunteer recruitment strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit volunteers by executing outreach strategies to various institutions, schools, community organizations and other volunteer resources
  • Create, schedule and lead volunteer orientations and training sessions
  • Create, maintain, update and implement volunteer scheduling
  • Activate volunteer deployment procedures in consultation with all Festival departments
  • Supervise, assign and direct volunteer shifts during Festival Week
  • Track volunteer hours and fulfill all volunteer benefit schemes (ticket comps, etc.)
  • Organize volunteer refreshments during Festival Week
  • Assist with Festival Operations, logistics and other tasks as assigned by Festival team
  • Maintain effective communication with volunteers via various channels
  • Organize and execute Festival Wrap Party for all volunteers
  • Complete all post-Festival tasks (thank you letters, volunteer database, manuals)

The Operations Associate will assist the Operations Manager, the Production Coordinator and the Volunteer Coordinator in executing all operational and logistical aspects of the 33rd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, April 27 through May 4, 2017. Playing a key role in Festival operations and events production, the Operations Associate will help carry out operational workflows and help address production, logistics and operational concerns for the Festival. The successful candidate will be comfortable with project, venue and event coordination, and have experience, interest and/or knowledge in event production, house management and venue/event logistics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of day-to-day, hour-by-hour operations schedules / run sheets for Festival Week
  • Help implement rundowns for Festival screenings and events
  • Assist Operations team in venue operations and assist in house management as necessary
  • Assist Operations team in setup/breakdown for all Festival screenings and events
  • Assist in all transportation of equipment and materials and other deliveries to venues and staff

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Box Office Associate will coordinate and execute Box Office operations for the 33rd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, April 27 through May 4, 2017. Playing a key role in facilitating all Festival ticketing and entry experiences, the Box Office Associate acts as the central point of contact and ambassador for the Festival public. The successful candidate will be confident and adept in customer service, procedural problem-solving and have experience and/or knowledge in ticketing and point-of-sale systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fulfill ticketing requests before and during Festival
  • Implement Festival Box Office policy via effective and correct usage of ticketing systems
  • Maintain correspondence and clientele etiquette with all ticketing public, including Festival guests, sponsors, members and community partners
  • Assist Festival attendees on all Box Office and Ticketing queries
  • Train Festival team members and volunteers on ticketing systems and procedures as needed
  • Regularly communicate with Festival team and report to Box Office Manager and Festival administration
