‘Kuleana’ to debut on Lanai, in L.A.

Kuleana,” a film shot on Maui, will open a one-week engagement at Lana’i Theater on Friday and make its Los Angeles premiere May 5 at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, writer and director Brian Kohne said Monday.

Actor Branscombe Richmond, editor Adi Ell-Ad and Kohne will be attending the Los Angeles opening. There also will be a screening of a short film titled The Tree,” which was created by Farai Richmond, son of the actor.

Kuleana continues its run in island theaters, including Regal theaters at the Maui Mall and The Wharf Cinema Center in Lahaina.
