Domestic violence, school violence, and societal violence continually challenge and threaten the Taiwanese teenage boy, XiangYu. He seeks to escape from the undesirable reality and take shelter in his imaginary Barbie doll world. XiangYu learns to fight back to seek solutions for ever-lasting redemption. However, the relief from the redemption is impermanent…

 


Director's Bio

Director Rob Chihwen Lo, is a Taiwan-born director, actor, and animator in the fields of TV commercials, theater, and films. He graduated with a BFA in Theater from Taiwan University, and an MFA in Film/Video from California Institute of the Arts. Lo’s works have been awarded and screened in prestigious festivals, museums, on TV, and theaters, including: Taipei Film Festival, Slamdance, Athen, Directors’ Guild of America, Raindance, and Beijing Film Academy.
