A young animator crafted this labor of love to inspire his father during his long battle with cancer and to pay tribute to his father’s life, beginning with his childhood in rural China. CHANGYOU’S JOURNEY is a story of perseverance and enduring hope in the darkest times of our lives.


Director's Bio

Perry Chen is a high school senior at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego. At 11, Chen was the youngest animator with an Oscar-qualifying film & multiple festival winner, INGRID PITT: BEYOND THE FOREST. CHANGYOU’S JOURNEY is Chen’s animation directorial debut, which won him National YoungArts Finalist Award, Scholastic Art & Writing National Gold Metal, New York Life Foundation Award, and nomination as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts Candidate.
