Description

Activists through spoken word poetry, transgender artists Alok and Janani (AKA DarkMatter) premiere “It Gets Better,” a performance mixing art, theater, and poetry, tackling the struggles of trans POC worldwide.


Director's Bio

Filmmaker and editor Crystal Waterton started her film career at Montclair State University. Crystal continued her studies at Hunter College and earned her Master of Fine Arts while creating her film, DECODING DARKMATTER. Today, she continues to edit, film, and create poignant films that shed light on the issues of marginalized communities by providing audiences a visual medium that encourages discussion and action.
